This is a set of handcrafted doors was made in the late 1800s, in the Tularosa, New Mexico Basin. They were the entry doors to a brothel that operated on the outskirts of a small community that sprang up during the railroad construction and logging industry boom in that area. Featuring simple pine construction methods with a few tricks thrown in, and all the iron work was made by the area blacksmith. The expanded wire used in the openings has a pretty interesting history in itself, as the technique was in it’s infancy. The set measures 38″ wide and 69″ tall, it’s in fabulous condition with proper age indications.
