Early 20th Century sterling hand made concho belt. 11 conchos plus buckle. Each concho’s stamping is unique, with slight variations in the pattern. The edges of the conchos are stamped and the sun rays are chisel chased. The belt, including black leather strap (which I think has been replaced) weighs 159 grams. The buckle measures 2” by 1 5/8” and the conchos measure 2” by 1.5”. Attached to the leather belt with single copper straps and the conchos are literally covered with age patina. Hallmarked “HR” and stamped sterling; unknown Navajo artisan. The belt is 30” long, but the conchos could easily be transferred to another belt. Copper straps will accommodate a .75” wide belt. A lot of work went into this with nice attention to detail. The conchos all being slightly different really speaks to the early hand made nature of this piece.
