Unusual early all hand made squash blossom necklace and earring set. 80 hand made beads, strung on chain, hand made clasp and irregular stamping. Weighs 47 grams, measures 17.25” long, the sterling squares measure 7/8” on the necklace and the ones on the earrings are 5/8” square. The stones in the necklace are a slightly different hue than the ones in the earrings but are from the same source. There is no hallmark, but the design and artistry involved are the vision of a dedicated and talented artisan from the early 20th century. The construction is superb, with the mechanical aspects of the set being very well thought out and executed–the loops that attach the tabs to the necklace are overly-secure, and the earring construction is done with the same attention to detail and craftsmanship. This set was made to last a lifetime or two. This elegant Navajo set is in excellent condition, very old and very collectable.
