Q: Is shopping on your site secure?
A: PayPal uses industry-leading technology and automatically encrypts your confidential information in transit from your computer to theirs, using the Secure Sockets Layer protocol (SSL) with an encryption key length of 128-bits (the highest level commercially available). Our website hosting is also encrypted to this level, thus providing complete security for our clientele. In the final checkout process your browser will be re-routed to PayPal. A PayPal account is not required when checking out. If you do not have a PayPal account, click on “Pay With Debit or Credit Card” and follow the prompts. Please do not email your credit card number to us–PayPal is our only payment gateway for credit cards.
Q: What are your shipping rates?
A: USPS Priority Mail shipping (2 to 4 business days within the US excluding addresses in “rural” areas as deemed by the USPS) is FREE Worldwide. We also offer Express shipping (next day within the US, excluding Sundays & holidays) for $15.00 per item excluding items over 1 pound; this option is offered prior to check out when viewing your cart contents and is not available for buyers outside the continental US.
Q: What is your return policy?
A: Your purchases are 100% guaranteed. Upon receiving your items should you find them less than what you anticipated, return them within 7 days and you will be issued a full refund upon their arrival. Our expectation is that returned items will be in the same condition as when they were shipped.
We do not accept returns based on the buyer’s inability to establish size requirements. The buyer is responsible for insuring what they purchase will be the correct size for them, their belt, or any body part the item is meant to fit. Our descriptions are accurate and exacting, so please measure carefully prior to making a purchase.
Items that have been sized or altered in any way are not eligible for return.
Should an item be damaged during shipping, a refund will be contingent upon the USPS making restitution. We’ve been shipping delicate items for decades and we over pack in all cases. We take every precaution to insure the prompt, safe arrival of your purchase.
Discounted items are considered a Final Sale and are not eligible for return.
Q: Why is the price different than stated on the link that led me to your website?
A: Our pricing structure is subject to change without notice. Continuing research drives our pricing in order to be competitive.
Q: What if I want to pay by money order or personal check?
A: You would need to contact us using the “INQUIRE” link on the items’s page. There is a 10 day waiting period for all checks to clear prior to your item being shipped. We can not be responsible for the actions of the USPS in the event your check is misplaced in transit. Using Certified Mail when sending a check is recommended. There will be a $35 charge on all returned checks.
Q: Do you offer Layaway or some sort of payment plan?
A: We’ve done this in the past and it’s proven to be more trouble than it’s worth. Our bookkeeper has advised against it, so we no longer offer this service.
Q: Do you offer a discount for multiple purchases?
A: We are open to discussion on this issue and will take the matter under consideration on a piece by piece basis where multiple purchases are concerned.
Q: How do I know your products are authentic?
A: Our acquisitions team has no less than 100 years combined experience and our acquisitions manager is responsible for researching and dating the pieces offered. If an item is even slightly in question, it is not placed on the website. You can be assured that all items are as described.
Q: Can you alter an item to my specifications?
A: This is not within our scope of service. It is against our policies to alter any Native American work of art, as it will then no longer be representative of the artisan’s vision. As an example, someone may want a bracelet sized to fit them correctly—this should be done by an experienced jeweler that you know and trust, while you are present, to insure the adjustment is exactly what you require. Certain construction methods simply can not be adjusted for size and this will be indicated in the item’s description. We have received requests to add or change stones in certain items; this should also be done under your supervision, although we advise against it. Any item that has been altered in any way is not eligible for return.
Q: What if I need additional information before making a purchase?
A: There is an “INQUIRE” link on each item’s page for this purpose. Clicking this link generates an automatic email form where you can list your requests. We will respond to your inquiry in under 24 hours in most cases.
Q: Can you help me determine the origins and value of my collection?
A: Researching pieces that aren’t easily identified can be a daunting task. We have many resources, but information on Native American artisans is often unavailable. Many artisans produced high-end pieces for a short period, with little concern for commercial recognition. We can establish stone identifications, place your piece in a time category and give an appraisal of it’s retail value for a set fee of $50 per item, to be paid in advance. This will require multiple high quality images of the piece—in focus and in a large format so they can be closely scrutinized. That many artisans are not known, identifying the maker is not guaranteed. Reasonable stone identification, time period and retail value will be estimated based on our extended knowledge of the art form. The information provided by Native Treasures will as exacting as possible but if subsequent research is done by another provider, their opinions may vary, and we can’t be responsible for conflicting information. There are no refunds on appraisals.
