The hand-cut bezel and carved Sleeping Beauty mine turquoise stones used to create this fantastic set of three stone dangle earrings, are evidence of their age. The set is handmade right down to the single link of chain and connecting rings for the elements. Sleeping Beauty mine turquoise is often used for carving, as the turquoise is stable when cut, due to the lack of matrix. Diane Lonjose recently won the Ceremonial Blue Ribbon for her work, from the Zuni Nation. These earrings measure 1.25” long, 5/16” wide and weigh 6 grams. Hallmarked RLD, covered in heavy age patina and in excellent condition. Lonjose’s work is very similar to that of Alvina Quam, another talented Zuni artisan.
