This example of the two tine Navajo hairpiece is exquisite. The construction techniques, the hand stamping and the beautifully hand twisted wire tines are indicative of the time period—I place this piece in the 1920s or 30s. It measures 4.75” long, the domed head piece measures 1.75” across and it weighs 16 grams. The curved stamps on the head piece alternate in style around the outer edge and the stamping in the center is unusual and very well done, as the three main elements are not stamped, but individually chisel chased—very unique! The piece has no markings, tests positive for sterling, is in excellent condition and covered in warm age patina. You don’t see these hairpieces of this caliber very often.
