Made by the Philadelphia Manufacturing Co. (PMC) with a highly polished brass or bronze finish over metal, in the mid-1940s or early ’50s. They’re part of a series called “Symbols of a Nation” and depict an alert Native American Scout assisting “white men” in their efforts to traverse the unknown landscape of a “Newly Discovered America.” Each is 6.5” tall with the base measuring 5” by 4.25”, the set weighs approx. 4.5 pounds, they both have the paper sticker in perfect condition and feature the company hallmark on the edge of the base. Both bases feature he original black felt in perfect condition. This set is in the same vain as Frankart and New Art, manufacturers of the same time period. As you can see, they’re in amazing condition, beautifully designed and would make a fantastic addition to any Southwestern décor environment. A rare and highly collectable set from a renowned manufacturer.
