Incorporating bear claw symbolism, this vintage Hopi sterling overlay ring is hallmarked with âTâ done in exaggerated block type. The Hopi Guild stamp is reserved for artisans whose work has been sanctioned by tribal elders as representative of high standards and traditional design. The cut outs are clean and the texturing in the recesses is done with short, exacting chisel chasing. The chased lines of the design are also expertly executed. The ring is a size 7.25, the face measures 1 5/8â by 5/8â and it weighs 9 grams. The ring is lightly scratched 4789 on the back; probably a previous owners identification of some sort. The ring features the traditional Hopi single band shank and is well secured to the ring. The ring is in outstanding condition with it’s edges being worn smooth from use.
