Signed NT on an attached plate, this pin is classically designed and the execution is indicative of a talented artisan. The three repousee punch-outs are even and well matched, and the deep stamping is so clean there are indications they were applied while the sterling was still hot. There is slight irregularity in the thickness of the sterling plate which may indicate this piece was made from an ingot. The pin measures 2 3/16” by 1” and weighs 21 grams. Great age patina in the recesses and the edges are worn smooth from use.
