Vintage Zuni Turquoise and Sterling Ring by Alvina Quam

Alvina Quam’s signature deep, hand cut bezel and carved stones are a testament to her dedication to traditional design. She is still producing today and incorporating old techniques in her work. This is an older ring by her as is evidenced by it’s wear. The construction is fantastic, the Sleeping Beauty mine turquoise stones are beautifully set and the chisel accents on the ring face are indicative of her work, as is the double shank. Diane Lonjose’s work is so similar to Quam’s, I would be surprised if they weren’t associated. The ring face measures 1” by .5”, it weighs 5 grams and is a size 6.5. We also have an Oxblood Coral Pendant and earring set by Quam that is not hallmarked. Fully hallmarked ALVINA Q, ZUNI, great age patina and pristine condition. Alvina Quam was the translator for the book β€œThe Zunis: Self-portrayals.”
